As a trusted authority on digital asset investing, Varys Capital provides secure access to the transformative asset class through its multi-strategy approach to investment returns in early-stage venture and risk-adjusted quantitative trading.

The firm is now seeking highly capable, energetic, and resourceful interns tasked with supporting the senior and/or managerial team. This is a fast-paced and agile work environment so being capable of juggling multiple aspects of the role, having thick skin, and being innovative is a necessity. You would learn from some of the best in the business with a team hailing from Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, Barclays, KPMG, Deloitte, Bangkok Bank, Bitkub, and more.

Relevant Dates

  • Duration: Three (3) months
  • Expected Start Date: Monday, March 14, 2024
  • Expected Completion Date: Friday, June 14, 2024
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday 10am-6pm.
    PLEASE NOTE: We are flexible if you are still in school and/or have class on work days.

Housing Stipend

  • The monthly housing stipend is 10,000 THB per month, paid on the last day of the month via direct bank transfer

Financial Analyst

As a Financial Analyst intern, you will be much more than a simple number cruncher, but rather an integral part and driving force behind the financial machinery of the firm.

A financial analyst is responsible for unpacking and reconstituting the inner workings of the fund from a performance perspective. In addition to working closely with members from the finance department, venture department, and quantitative trading division, you will regularly interact with the fund administrator to ensure various reports are properly compiled.

Regular contact with our investor base while contributing to their understanding of the asset class, comprehending the mechanics of blockchain investments, assisting with venture capital placements and portfolio tracking, internal settlement of NAV, and constantly striving for greater capital efficiencies are all part of the role.

As a Financial Analyst intern, you will be afforded the ability to learn from the best multicultural team in the business and operate out of our Bangkok office (beside EmQuartier Mall).

Skills & Qualifications

Must-haves

  • Must be proficient in the use of the English language (both verbal and written);
  • Have a degree (or be in the process of studying) in the field of Business, Accounting, Finance, or a combination;
  • Strong accounting background, understanding of the Financial Statements and the bookkeeping process;
  • Excellent computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) as well as Mac application comprehension;
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills;
  • Must be very detail-orientated; Preference is placed on candidates that exhibit the potential for a full-time hire if they prove themselves during the internship;
  • Must possess strong analytical and social skills as well as being good at building relationships; and
  • Can work well under pressure and be able to meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with the concept of Net Asset Value (NAV) and the Funds industry is a plus;
  • Familiarity with financial services or institutions (e.g. bank, investment company, M&A, etc.) is a plus but not required; and
  • Have working experience in the position you are applying for is a plus but not required.
